Drawn to Life SpongeBob Squarepants Edition (DS)

Posted on September 30th, 2008 in Latest Info by GamePro.com
2007's DS title Drawn to Life is a standard platforming game with a non-standard twist: the player, cast as "The Creator", draws the game's hero, environments and interactive objects using the stylus. Players and critics were thrilled at the chance to create a mighty phallus warrior with which to take down evil, for in our hearts we know that the End Day is going to look a little similar.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Though the platforming element is considerably simple, Drawn to Life: Spongebob Squarepants Edition will make some kids (or unemployed stoners) quite happy this holiday season. Everyone else might want to opt for the original title.

NHL 09 (360)

Posted on September 30th, 2008 in Latest Info by GamePro.com
The last few years have been good to hockey fans when it comes to videogames. EA Sports has been doing fine work, but this years version is undoubtedly the best game of hockey yet.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Any fan of hockey owes it to themselves to grab a copy of this instant classic.

We Cheer (Wii)

Posted on September 30th, 2008 in Latest Info by GamePro.com
The premise for We Cheer is simple enough: choose a squad leader for your brigade of cheerleaders and travel cross-country from venue to venue as you pump up the audience through expertly choreographed dance routines. With each stage you clear, you can recruit another cheerleader to your squad, unlock clothes, shoes and pom-poms to customize your dancers with, and further your tour across America in a variety of colorful, innovative stages. Sound simple enough, right?

THE BOTTOM LINE: With an absurd learning curve and unresponsive controls, We Cheer plays like a missed opportunity.

Silent Hill: Homecoming (360)

Posted on September 30th, 2008 in Latest Info by GamePro.com
In the mood to jump out of your skin with fright? If you enjoy strolling the gritty alleys of the dark side of gaming, Silent Hill has long been a destination of choice despite an uneven entry or two. Sadly, though Homecoming boasts some genuinely intense moments of dread, its equally distressing gameplay flaws will take a big bite out of your enjoyment.

THE BOTTOM LINE: What could have been a fantastic surivival horror game, Homecoming is hampered by lackluster gameplay and a linear story.
